Sorry to contact you this way but you leave me no choice. It would be good of you to send Dad's watch back to Lori as it has extreme sentimental value to our family. Thanks in advance.

I used to babysit Erland's daughter, Isabella. I remember how Isabella's face would light up when she heard her father's car pull in the driveway when he got home from work. She and Erland had such a special bond. He was such a kind man and he loved his wife and daughter more than anything. I am so fortunate that I was able to know Erland and his family. He is truly missed.

To the Hawkins family ... I have just learned about Erland's passing and am so sorry for your loss ... I worked with Erland at Delta when we were both International In-Flight Service Operational Supervisors ... he was a delightful individual and a very good Supervisor who had great compassion for those he worked with and for ... he will truly be missed!

I am truly saddened to hear of Erland's passing. I served with him in the Japan Kobe mission in 1980. I have tried to contact him several times over the years, but was always unsuccessful until now when to my shock I find his obituary. I was Erland's first companion in the mission field and have many fond memories of walking the streets of Nishiwaki Japan with him and teaching some wonderful people. He was an incredible person and a blast to work with! He will truly be missed, I am sure.

Thanks for the memories. I was lucky to have met Erland after 9/11 when the world was in chaos. Erland had a calming way about him that just brought tranquility to those around him. My first memories included Erland and Anne making many trips to Guatemala and how they wanted to share the love they had. Isabella you are the result of that love and are blessed to have them as your parents. The joy they found with you is exceptional. Erland would get the same gleam in his eye every time he talked about Isabella, Trevor and Nathan. He was so proud of his children. I loved getting into serious dicussions with Erland because he seemed to want to soak up as much information on a subject as he could. The discussions were always thoughtful and when political in nature, quite humorous. I imagine he is up there now having a discussion with St. Peter. Erland, we will miss your smile and laughter but not the way you touched our hearts --you will always be there. God's speed my friend.
